Precision Products Group (PPG) is a growing global leader in converting niche engineered materials for electrical, aerospace & defense, medical, and industrial markets. As a result of growth, we are introducing a new Supply Chain Manager role to strengthen and scale our operations.
Role Overview
We seek a strategic yet hands-on supply chain professional who is comfortable and excels in a 'coach/player' capacity—leading a corporate purchasing team while actively performing sourcing and purchasing activities. This role drives supply chain performance through aggregating and leveraging spend across multiple company divisions, is highly data-driven with decision-making, and operational excellence. Expertise in textiles, fibers, and yarns is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor an existing purchasing team (3–4 buyers) while actively managing procurement activities.
- Develop and execute corporate sourcing strategies, including RF(X) events, vendor qualification, and contract negotiations.
- Act as the primary buyer for textile products (fibers, yarns, and related raw materials).
- Oversee procurement of direct and indirect materials across all business units.
- Support annual cost-reduction initiatives and projects.
- Partner with Engineering and Product Development for new product launches.
- Co-lead corporate Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demand planning to improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization (right-sizing levels to demand).
- Implement best practices and leverage analytics to enhance supply chain performance.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity and resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; advanced degree or APICS certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in textiles (fibers and yarns sourcing and procurement).
- Proven experience partnering with GPOs to ensure favorable pricing.
- Strong knowledge of supply planning and S&OP processes.
- ERP/MRP experience (Made2Manage or Winman preferred), advanced data analysis skills.
- AI-driven supply chain optimization experience is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within small-to-mid-sized companies that are private equity-owned.
- Must be authorized to work in U.S.
Travel
Up to 25% travel to suppliers, manufacturing sites, and corporate offices. Valid passport required as there may be some international travel.
