At the health center, board-certified providers lead teams of health professionals who can address almost any non-emergency health need or chronic condition. About The Role
Lynn Community Health Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional eye care services, engages in clinical teaching and assists the clinical director in clinical operations. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality eye care possible.

Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Massachusetts
  • Current controlled substance certificate
  • Training appropriate to practice – 5 years' experience or Optometry Residency
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of quality eye care, evaluations, diagnosis and treatment
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
  • Residency training preferred
  • Experience working in a community health setting preferred
  • Strong ocular disease background preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on care while achieving the highest levels of appropriateness, quality, efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness.
  • Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or macular degeneration.
  • Diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system.
  • Examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment.
  • Prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.
