Position Summary:
The Data Reporting Analyst extracts, cleans and analyzes raw data to create meaningful reports and insights that inform business decisions. Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs, using tools like SQL and Power BI, developing dashboards and reports, and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills, often including proficiency in data visualization and statistical analysis. This position supports and contributes to the Ten Thousand Villages mission by:
Transforming raw data into actionable insights and clear visualizations to allow leadership to make informed strategic, and data driven decisions. This role is a crucial link between information and business strategy to ensure evidence-based decision making ultimately leading to the growth of Ten Thousand Villages.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
Data management:
o Collect, clean, monitor, and validate data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Data analysis:
o Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in complex datasets using statistical tools and techniques.
o Develop data visualizations and presentations for internal audiences (graphs, tables, etc.)
Reporting:
o Design and create dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
Collaboration:
o Work with cross-functional teams to define business requirements, translate them into data needs, and provide data-driven support.
Problem-solving:
o Use data to identify and solve business problems, recommending improvements to processes or systems.
Technical application:
o Utilize various software and programming languages, such as SQL, Power BI, Excel, Jet Reporting, or other tools, to perform analysis and build reports.
Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Education/Skills/Abilities:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Economics (or equivalent education and experience).
- Experience: 2-4+ years
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Excel, Jet Reports).
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and database systems.
- Any experience with Microsoft Navision, Business Central, or other ERP systems is appreciated.
- Any experience in inventory management data or retail data (e.g., Shopify) is appreciated.
- Experience navigating data management software
- Experience using data to support and drive programmatic decision-making and improvements
- Analytical skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex findings to different audiences.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
- Self-directed and capable of working to meet quick turnarounds and deadlines independently.
- Experience working in a non-profit is a plus
