Local Neighborhood Hardware store is looking for an Assistant Manager in the Portland area.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our retail store, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive sales growth. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering an outstanding shopping experience.
Duties:
- Management of the retail store, including sales, customer service, inventory management, and employee scheduling
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and increase profitability
- Train and develop retail staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock availability
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local regulations
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to enhance the store's appearance
Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and resolve customer concerns
- Proficiency in retail math for inventory management and sales analysis
- Proven track record in driving sales and achieving targets
- Experience in training development and conducting effective employee training sessions
- Excellent interviewing skills to identify top talent for the retail team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Multilingual abilities are a plus for serving a diverse customer base
- Proficient in administrative tasks such as record keeping, scheduling, and reporting
- Previous experience in store management or sales management is preferred
