Industrial Engineering Intern

QTL is seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern for a winter internship opportunity. This role will work alongside our Engineering and Leadership team to help develop work instructions, create process documentation, and participate in quality and process improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a student currently enrolled in an engineering program to gain experience.

Essential Functions

  • Revise and develop work instructions, job breakdowns, and standard work documentation; support training efforts for production staff.
  • Conduct process audits, time studies, and workflow observations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement principles within production areas.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving production issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting to aid operational decision-making.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a college or university engineering program preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or interest in learning more about manufacturing preferred.
  • Communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal communication, and professional written communication.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation quality.
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Type: Internship

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
