We are an aerospace company that is a major product and system solutions provider for aircraft manufacturers utilizing a lightweight, flame retardant foam material that is changing the way engineers think about part design.

We are currently looking to fill the position of a CNC Set-Up Operator

Basic Function:

Support Operations and Engineering in the set-up and operation of the CNC equipment in the Primary Operations work cell to maintain and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics for processes involving the conversion of foam and other materials into finished products, assemblies, and/or kits.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all set-up operations in support of CNC Router machining and Primary Operations (POPS) equipment for self and others.

  • Develop a thorough and complex understanding of all aspects of the POPS work cell. Perform efficient and effective diagnosis and troubleshooting of routine or minor problems.

  • Take the lead on setups of newly programmed parts and provide timely feedback to the Programmer and Engineering for non-conformances or improvements.

  • Use manufacturing work orders to setup and manufacture product that meets quality requirements. Inspect and verify work prior to submitting for inspection. If non-conforming, process via non-conforming material procedures. Properly and accurately, complete all necessary paperwork to ensure compliance.

  • Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

  • Able to do offsets, compensations, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.

  • Maintain specifications by observing machining operations, taking measurements, and detecting malfunctions.

  • Communicate trending issues to Operations and Engineering and offer support during the troubleshooting process.

  • Monitor and report scrap on a daily basis. Offer suggestions, as applicable, to mitigate future occurrences. Document on appropriate paperwork to ensure future production runs are aware of issues and/or non-conformances.

  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of the magnet system and keeping communication boards up to date and accurate.

  • Perform all tasks in compliance with all company safety, environmental policies and procedures, and all applicable codes and standard practices.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of overall company objectives.

Experience:

  1. Two to three years of CNC manufacturing related experience.

  2. Three years' experience in manufacturing processing and troubleshooting.
