Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Technical Project Manager to lead complex, multi-stakeholder IT initiatives within the banking and custody asset servicing domain. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience managing large-scale system migrations, regulatory programs, and client transitions, with a solid understanding of mainframe technologies and banking operations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver end-to-end IT projects, including requirements gathering, design, testing, cutover, hyper-care, and post-go-live stabilization
Manage project governance, RAID logs, budgets, schedules, and executive reporting
Oversee IT budget planning and project time tracking, preferably using Clarity
Coordinate UAT, production readiness, and release management to ensure stable implementations
Drive operating model and process improvements; document SOPs, controls, and procedures
Align project delivery with risk, compliance, and audit standards, ensuring audit-ready change records
Collaborate across Operations, Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, and external clients
Lead complex cutovers and manage post-implementation stabilization
Proactively identify and resolve dependencies, risks, and issues
Produce executive dashboards and status reports for senior leadership
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Qualifications
7–10+ years of IT Project Management experience, with at least 5 years in banking
Strong experience in custody asset servicing, global markets, or investment operations
Proven delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder programs (system migrations, regulatory initiatives, client transitions)
Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall)
Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
Strong governance, stakeholder, and executive management skills
Experience managing IT budgets and time tracking, preferably using Clarity
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Nice-to-Have / Domain Knowledge
- Custody operations including:
- Corporate actions
- Income processing
- Settlements (DTC, Euroclear, Clearstream)
- Reconciliation processes
- Cash management and end-of-day processing
- Messaging standards: SWIFT MT/MX and ISO 20022
- Exposure to Mainframe technologies (System Z, Enterprise COBOL)
