Job Description Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerate delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, tolls that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD etc. all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
Communication:
Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
Facilitate information/business knowledge:
Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
Stakeholder Management:
Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
5+ Years as a DevOps Engineer
Strong knowledge in AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
Practical experience using Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm
Knowledge of Java (spring) is ideal
Extensive experience of cloud computing, and best practices/emerging technologies
Experienced with multiple eco-system databases, architecture and integrations
Knowledge of GitLab, Bash scripting, ArgoCD, Kafka or Liquibase is beneficial but not a must-have
Embracing automation and implement CI/CD to improve quality and minimise downtime
Proactive monitoring and effective incident response to detect and efficiently resolve issues
Focussing on continuous improvement, fast feedback, high empathy and trust
Defining ways of working that aligns to standards and best practice.
