We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. Your primary role involves navigating the warehouse using order sheets or scanning devices to locate and retrieve specified items. This position is crucial to our efficient warehouse operations, ensuring timely and correct order fulfillment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff, including inventory control and shipping departments, to maintain smooth workflow and high productivity. Adherence to all safety protocols is paramount. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets or electronic lists.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment to move products.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure accuracy.
- Package picked items securely for shipment, applying appropriate labels.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to warehouse organization standards.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and checks.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the warehouse supervisor immediately.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to overall team success.
- Must be comfortable with lifting items up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is a plus but not required. Ability to read and understand order forms and product labels. Basic math skills for counting and verification. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform frequent lifting.
