We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Your duties will include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipment contents. This position is vital for maintaining our reputation for timely and accurate deliveries. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the smooth flow of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) regarding shipment status.
- Maintain organized shipping records and filing systems.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Operate basic office equipment and warehouse machinery as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics or administrative role.
- Proficiency in using computers and common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and carrier requirements.
- Familiarity with Safety guidelines in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform some Lifting tasks up to 30 lbs.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
