Job Title: Adjunct Faculty
Department: Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program- Phoenix Campus
Location: Hybrid (on campus approximately 1 week per block)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Kalyn Briggs, Program Director
General Purpose of the Job:
The successful candidate will teach doctoral level occupational therapy courses and courses that build knowledge of occupational therapy interventions for persons, communities, and populations at-risk of inclusive of existing and emerging practice areas. This can include assisting other faculty members with course content and labs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach lectures and lab courses in area of expertise (online & on-campus)
- Participate in assigned departmental and University meetings
- Adhere to all University policies and procedures
- Collaborate with colleagues on interprofessional (IPE) team projects This position requires online instruction for 8 weeks; 7 weeks online instruction and 1 week lab instruction on campus.
Education and/or Experience
Doctorate degree in occupational therapy. Experience in content related to courses or lab activities assigned, teaching experience preferred.

Computer Skills
Must be proficient in using online teaching technology, including use of Zoom and PowerPoint.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
1 Must have current Arizona OT license.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand for up to three hours, with intermittent breaks and move about lab spaces to assist students. Must be able to visually attend to a computer screen for up to three hours with hourly breaks.
Other Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years as a registered occupational therapist
- A commitment to evidence-based care, lifestyle health, and lifelong learning
- Applicants with documented expertise in academic and/or clinical practice in one or more of the following areas: o Anatomy & Kinesiology, Pediatrics, Neurorehabilitation, Physical Disabilities, and Mental Health
- Applicants local to the Phoenix campus preferred
