About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack - Shopping, to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects, guiding a team of experienced developers to build scalable, robust, and innovative solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving a major transformation within Capital One Shopping, marrying data with emerging technologies to create impactful digital experiences.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to develop cloud-based applications that improve the shopping experience for millions of users. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of technological innovation, influence strategic decisions, and mentor the next generation of engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering (internship experience does not qualify)
• Minimum 1 year of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go
• Experience with open source frameworks and tools
• Knowledge of container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working with both RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Strong understanding of distributed microservices architecture
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of complex technology projects, overseeing the development and deployment of full stack solutions
• Manage and mentor a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and full stack applications aligned with regulatory and business needs
• Stay current with emerging technology trends, experimenting with new tools and frameworks to enhance project delivery
• Collaborate with digital product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful cloud-based solutions
• Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality software products
• Participate in internal and external technology communities to promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning
• Contribute to strategic planning and technical decision-making processes within the team
