We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive CBP/USDA Compliance Supervisor to join our team in Detroit. This is an onsite position, supporting our operations by ensuring full compliance with all Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Manage and maintain the USDA and CBP regulated garbage program, ensuring strict adherence to all federal guidelines.
- Ensure 100% compliance with USDA and CBP requirements in accordance with approved SOPs and the Compliance Agreement.
- Oversee all required reporting, including spill logs, sterilization logs, and collection logs.
- Review and submit all reports to CBP accurately and within required timeframes.
- Conduct regular audits of the regulated waste process to identify risks, gaps, or non-compliance issues.
- Maintain all documentation, certifications, and program records as required.
- Lead corrective actions and follow-up procedures when compliance issues occur.
- Act as the authorized signatory for the USDA Compliance Agreement.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the General Manager regarding compliance status, trends, and operational risks.
- Train and support operational teams on proper handling, segregation, and disposal of regulated garbage.
- Serve as the primary liaison with USDA and CBP officers during inspections, audits, and routine visits.
Supportive Functions
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of DO&CO.
- Participate in new hire orientation and conduct annual training as necessary.
- Investigate accidents, prepare and maintain required reports.
- Promote a proactive safety culture.
- Maintain, review and report quality performance.
Required Qualifications Education & Experience
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong understanding of federal regulations governing international waste handling.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with government agencies and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to enforce compliance requirements.
- Proactive and self-organized.
- Ability to manage through a substantial workload.
- Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
- Education & Experience.
- Experience with CBP/USDA compliance, regulated garbage, or aviation catering operations preferred.
- Good Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
