Status: Full-time

Summary: A yard position helps keep daily operations running smoothly by handling the movement, storage, and organization of goods. Their work supports inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and overall yard and warehouse efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment
• Operating equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks (when certified)
• Organizing and maintaining inventory to ensure products are stored safely and efficiently
• Keeping the yard and warehouse clean, safe, and compliant with company and OSHA guidelines
• Communicating with supervisors and team members to resolve issues and meet productivity goals
• Maintains accurate stock in the yard and warehouse.
• Safely operates forklifts, saws, and other equipment.
• Completes daily forklift inspections according to OSHA standards.
• Follows yard and warehouse procedures.
• Maintains housekeeping of the warehouse.
• Informs Operations Manager/Dispatch of maintenance repairs on forklifts and saws.
• Accurately records all merchandise returns with credit forms.
• Maintains and promotes a safe working environment and follows all safety rules
• Complies with all company procedures and policies.

**NOTE: These are the essential, but not limited, functions of the yard position.

Management has the discretion to add to or change the duties/responsibilities to be performed

by this position.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

Experience: Prior lumber experience preferred but not required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Must be bilingual.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to follow and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate with customers, other employees, and managers using verbal and written skills.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk.
• Regularly lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry/move 100 lbs. for moderate distances.
• Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and squat.
• Reach overhead to grasp/carry materials.
• Climb heights up to 10 feet.

• Computer (basic knowledge)
• Zebra Scan Gun

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility with this position.

Environment and Working Conditions: Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold. Regularly work heavy equipment.

Builders is open Monday-Friday. Occasional Saturday pending business needs.
