About
Position Summary:
The Associate Asset Manager supports the Asset Management and Portfolio Management teams by monitoring construction projects and managing rental assets. Working directly under the Portfolio Manager, this role ensures projects and rental properties stay on track through strong organization, proactive oversight, and consistent follow-through.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. To include other duties as assigned.
- Project and Portfolio Monitoring:
-Track construction progress and budgets across assigned loans.
Maintain up-to-date project documentation including risk flags and provide monthly project status reports.
Coordinate project walks to assess progress, verify conditions, and capture updated notes.
Rental Portfolio Management:
Support ongoing oversight of the rental portfolio and provide summaries for internal reporting.
Coordinate with property managers and vendors to ensure timely resolution of maintenance items and tenant requests.
Salesforce/Data Integrity:
Maintain accurate Salesforce data for all active projects and rentals. Audit regularly to ensure data consistency and completeness.
Support dashboard creation and ongoing data efforts.
Borrower, Builder & Broker Communication:
Serve as a first line point of contact for routine borrower and builder inquiries.
Collect required updates (i.e. projected list pricing, schedule, price adjustments, etc.)
Participate in project kickoff meetings and manage follow-up items.
Coordinate with brokers for listing timelines, project walks, and property preparation.
Risk Management:
Identify and escalate potential delays, cost overruns, rental performance issues, or other concerns.
Assist in preparing internal risk assessments and summaries.
Monitor open items and help drive resolution across departments.
Internal Coordination:
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth information flow.
Support loan servicing events such as extensions, restructurings, and payoffs.
Keep internal trackers and dashboards current for both construction and rental assets.
Reporting & Data:
Update internal databases with accurate project and rental metrics.
Assist with ad-hoc analysis, scenario modeling, and market research.
Qualifications:
· 1–3 years of experience in real estate, construction, lending, property management, or asset management (internships OK).
· Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Clear communicator with strong follow-through.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Familiarity with Salesforce, loan structures, construction workflows, and property operations is a plus.
