About

Golden State Rehab LLC is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Program Director to lead the daily operations of our outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment programs. This role is central to ensuring regulatory compliance, staff development, program quality, and the delivery of exceptional client care. The Program Director works directly with the CEO and oversees clinical and administrative personnel, including Therapists and AOD Counselors.

About the Role

The Program Director provides leadership across all program functions, ensuring alignment with DHCS requirements, Joint Commission standards, and evidence-based practices. This position is responsible for supervising staff, maintaining program quality, supporting performance improvement activities, and upholding the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and client care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day program operations and ensure compliance with DHCS, Joint Commission, and internal policies.
  • Lead, supervise, evaluate, and support clinical and administrative staff.
  • Establish and monitor program goals, objectives, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Direct services across all levels of care and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, person-centered treatment.
  • Maintain strong communication with the CEO regarding program performance, client progress, staffing, and operational needs.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, staff development, disciplinary processes, and corrective action when required.
  • Provide leadership for Joint Commission initiatives and ongoing quality management activities.
  • Develop and maintain a culture grounded in empathy, strong ethics, and professional integrity.
  • Participate in client care discussions, case consultations, and therapeutic environment oversight.
  • Build productive relationships with referral sources, outside providers, managed care organizations, and community partners.
  • Support conflict resolution, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and staff training efforts.
  • Maintain program documentation, reporting, and compliance standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required by executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted California license as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC (must remain in good standing).
  • Minimum five years of experience in addiction treatment, mental health, or co-occurring disorders, including supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of DHCS outpatient certification standards, Joint Commission requirements, and evidence-based treatment practices.
  • Strong clinical, managerial, and leadership skills within a multidisciplinary treatment setting.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office.
  • Skilled in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and staff development.
  • Knowledge of medical necessity criteria, utilization review, and managed care processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make independent, sound decisions.
  • Well-developed organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current TB clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extended training in clinical supervision or co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience managing multi-level behavioral health programs.
