Overview
Role purpose Are you a seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in the water and wastewater sector? We are seeking a confident, innovative professional to lead the design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, building on our framework agreements and growth plans in AMP 8 and AMP 9 across ten major water and wastewater companies in England and Wales. The role is available in our Midsomer Norton (Head Office) or Newport offices. You will work on a diverse range of challenging projects, mentor junior staff, and influence key project decisions, within a supportive team of 40+ engineers. Mechanical design and specification of water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping stations, and related infrastructure Oversee project delivery from concept through detailed design and construction support Develop detailed specifications for survey requirements, equipment, systems and interfaces between disciplines, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards Produce mechanical designs using project specifications, standard requirements, outline scopes of work, and/or site investigations Innovate, challenge, and pursue continuous improvement across projects and designs Support addressing challenges across teams by applying your experience to define solutions Assist less technical team members with the specification of technical plant and machinery Liaise with project managers and commercial teams Attend site visits during and after projects Produce and present technical content during client visits and meetings We offer a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days at home, plus flexible working. Roles are available in Bath (Head Office) or Newport offices and relate to the clients those offices support. This is based on a 40-hour contract, Monday to Friday. About Bridges

Requirements
Experience in a senior mechanical design role Relevant engineering qualification such as a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, HNC, or HND Experience in:
Mechanical systems design Site general arrangement design, 2D and/or 3D Design project coordination, leading and supporting teams Chemical dosing Water quality monitoring
Autodesk 3D CAD packages Microsoft Office Specific water industry-based design experience Benefits
