Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials.
- Receive, identify, and stage incoming materials, verifying against shipping documents.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away, cycle counts, and stock organization.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, paying close attention to safety protocols and the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient material flow and timely order fulfillment.
- Assist in the preparation of outgoing shipments, including staging and consolidation of materials.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies to management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role requiring forklift operation.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs, standing, and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
