About
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our logistics operations in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all shipments are received accurately and processed efficiently. Your attention to detail will be critical in verifying delivery details, inspecting goods for damage, and updating inventory systems. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and supporting our warehouse operations. We pride ourselves on a safe and structured work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify packing slips against purchase orders and document any discrepancies.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal teams regarding deliveries.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely if certified.
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory control procedures as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar logistics role preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace Safety.
