Seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our team in Washington, D.C. This role plays a critical part in our **logistics** operations by ensuring all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include generating shipping labels, coordinating with freight carriers, and maintaining detailed shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outbound shipments accurately.
- Create shipping labels and necessary documentation for carriers.
- Schedule and coordinate carrier pickups.
- Track shipment progress and resolve any transit issues.
- Maintain comprehensive shipping records and logs.
- Ensure adherence to all **logistics**, transportation, and **safety** regulations.
- Wear and utilize appropriate **PPE** as per **safety** guidelines.
- Assist with inbound **logistics** when necessary, potentially involving light **lifting**.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Contribute to a culture of accuracy and **safety**.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework is a plus.
- Proven experience in a shipping clerk, logistics coordinator, or similar role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and standard office applications.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Awareness of **PPE** requirements and warehouse **safety** best practices.
- Solid understanding of **logistics** and shipping procedures.
- Ability to perform occasional **lifting** of items up to 30 lbs.
