What you'll be doing
As the Senior Manager, CAM Advance Analytics & Model Support, you will be part of a fast-paced, agile team and responsible for providing advanced analytical support and statistical insights to the reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives for CIBC's Collections function. As Senior Manager, you'll deliver impactful analytics, develop strategies, and drive enhanced business decisions on managing collections performance, customer interactions, and financial outcomes. With your deep expertise in advanced analytics, you will play a key role in optimizing collections strategies and supporting operational excellence. You will be the primary analytics partner to collections leadership, translating complex collections data into clear, actionable reporting and insights for senior management.
You will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring that collections leaders and stakeholders have the understanding they need to optimize performance and reduce losses. You will design and deliver robust analytics and reporting frameworks tailored to the needs of the collections leadership team, enabling data-driven decisions at every stage of the collections lifecycle.
You will collaborate with model development teams to test, implement, and monitor model performance, support ongoing model maintenance and enhancement activities. You will ensure models meet business requirements. You will identify opportunities to improve model accuracy and efficiency.
Additionally, you will work closely with other teams in IT, Business Intelligence, and Risk to ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards.
At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement, where you'll spend 1–3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
Analytical Mindset - Challenge the status quo through critical thinking and thoughtful analysis. Diagnose business operation environments, especially within collections, and prudently test hypotheses to identify actionable insights that drive operational improvements.
Domain Knowledge - Well-versed in best practices and new discoveries in analytical fields, with a strong focus on collections operations, processes, and performance metrics. Apply your knowledge to develop and enhance reporting and analytics for collections leadership.
Collections and/or Risk Management Data Expertise - Utilize your in-depth knowledge of collections processes (early-stage, mid-stage, late-stage, and dialer collections) to support analytics, reporting, and modelling to generate insights into collections performance, trends, and opportunities.
Machine Learning & Advanced Modelling - Lead the application and development of machine learning, advanced modelling techniques, and data science solutions to solve complex business problems within collections. Mentor and coach the analytics team in building predictive models, utilizing AI, and deploying advanced statistical methodologies to optimize collections strategies and outcomes.
Analytics Innovation - Foster a collaborative and innovative environment focused on continuous learning and technical excellence. Adopt new technologies and analytical approaches to remain at the forefront of industry best practices in machine learning and data science.
Relationship Management - Foster working relationships with business partners, particularly within the collections function, to create a collaborative atmosphere. Cultivate new relationships aimed at creating solutions to common objectives and ensure alignment of analytics and reporting with business priorities.
Who you are
You have significant experience in advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science , particularly within collections operations and/or risk management. You have experience in developing and deploying predictive models, advanced statistical techniques, and AI-driven solutions.
You are highly skilled in modelling, data mining, and statistical analysis using tools such as SAS, SQL, Python , and other machine learning frameworks. You excel at translating complex data and modelling outputs into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership, enabling data-driven decisions and strategic improvements.
You have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced analytics frameworks and reporting solutions. You are an advocate for innovation and continuous improvement , proactively seeking out new modelling techniques and analytical approaches to solve business challenges. You possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills , with a keen attention to detail and a passion for leveraging data science to drive operational excellence.
You communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders , fostering understanding and support for analytics-driven initiatives. You are committed to living CIBC's values—trust, teamwork, and accountability —and bring your authentic self to work every day.
