Position
We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant with STRONG customer service skills for our newest location, Spruce Grove, recently acquired Progressive Health Pharmacy. We offer a competitive wage, benefits package, and ongoing training and support. Practicing in this unique environment will enable the successful candidate to grow and become well-versed in various types of compounded medications (compounding is not done in stores).
At this time, our stores are closed in the evenings, open on a shortened Saturday schedule, and closed on Sundays and all Statutory Holidays.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity, the ideal candidate must:
- HAVE pharmacy experience.
- Demonstrated practical communication skills (Verbal and written).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
- Eagerness to learn and assist in maximizing efficiency and productivity.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have a vehicle.
- Experience with Kroll software
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service involves greeting customers, answering phone calls, and assisting them with inquiries or directing them to the appropriate staff member.
- Prescription Handling: Receiving and processing prescription orders, including inputting information into the pharmacy computer system, labelling medications, and ensuring accuracy in dispensing while preparing for a final check.
- Inventory Management involves receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and other pharmacy supplies. This includes monitoring stock levels, rotating inventory, and identifying expired or damaged products.
- Administrative Tasks: Assisting with administrative duties such as filing paperwork, maintaining patient records, and managing month-end insurance claims.
- Prescription Filling: Assisting with the preparation and packaging of prescriptions, including counting pills, measuring liquids, and assembling medication orders.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pharmacy area, including disinfecting surfaces, disposing of waste properly, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with other pharmacy staff members, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
