About
Design Engineer
for a highly respected developer tools company building software used inside
mission-critical, data-heavy applications . This role sits inside the design team and is ideal for a senior frontend engineer who cares about
craft, usability and consistency
and enjoys working shoulder-to-shoulder with designers. What you’ll work on
You’ll help the design team ship production-quality frontend work, primarily across the company’s
website and external-facing surfaces
(built with
Astro + React ). You’ll also support occasional product prototyping, examples and theming work, but this is
not
a core library engineering role. What you’ll do
Implementing high-quality, accessible UI from Figma into production Owning and evolving the
frontend architecture
of the website and external surfaces Designing and maintaining a
componentised design system
(tokens, patterns, reusable components) Improving consistency, modularity, and scalability across marketing and documentation pages Supporting designers by translating interaction ideas into working prototypes Building examples, demos, and resources that help users understand complex products Collaborating closely with designers, product, and engineers through fast feedback loops Raising the bar for UI quality, responsiveness, and maintainability What we’re looking for
Excellent
HTML, CSS , layout, and responsive design fundamentals Solid experience with
React
(Astro a bonus) Proven experience building or owning
design systems or shared component libraries Good understanding of the DOM, rendering behaviour, and frontend performance A collaborative mindset and experience working closely with designers Experience supporting marketing or content teams via reusable frontend systems Familiarity with accessibility standards ( WCAG ) and inclusive design principles Experience prototyping interactions directly in code Comfort working in a low-process, high-autonomy environment Exposure to data-heavy or developer-facing products Working style
Hybrid with a strong in-office culture:
3 days a week
