Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and excellent customer service abilities. This role is essential in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. The Shift Leader will serve as a key point of contact for staff and management, supporting the delivery of exceptional dining experiences across casual dining, quick service, or fine dining settings.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and motivate team members, providing coaching, training, and development to enhance performance.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation to meet quality standards, ensuring consistency across all menu items.
  • Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
  • Control inventory levels by monitoring stock, placing orders, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with staffing schedules, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new team members.
  • Support kitchen management in food production, catering events, banquet services, or bar operations as needed.
  • Participate in budgeting processes and contribute to overall restaurant management strategies.

Skills

  • Proven experience in food industry management with a background in restaurant or hospitality management.
  • Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for staff training, customer interaction, and team coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment typical of quick service or fine dining restaurants.
  • Culinary experience or kitchen management background preferred; hospitality or hotel experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in training & development, supervising staff, and managing restaurant operations during shifts.
  • Skills in inventory control, budgeting, food production, catering services, and event management are advantageous. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
