Mission of Treatment Coordinator

The treatment coordinator reports to the Business Team Lead. The mission of the treatment coordinator is to help facilitate patient understanding of the treatment needed as well as being a patient advocate to help make treatment affordable. The treatment coordinator is accountable for creating a relationship with patients, scheduling patient appointments and following up with unscheduled treatment. The treatment coordinator must be knowledgeable about dentistry and be able to work with the doctor and patient to make the right treatment decision that is best for the patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attain and maintain Five-Star Certification to qualify for handling new patient phone callsย 
  • Manage the complete new patient process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience
  • Take diagnostic x-rays and utilize intra-oral photography equipment, as needed
  • Provide patient education and clearly present recommended treatment plans
  • Understand patient insurance benefits and assist patients in maximizing their coverage, including performing insurance benefit checks
  • Deliver financial presentations for proposed treatment, including outlining
