Job Description:

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team in a school-based and/or clinic-based setting. This role offers the opportunity to create significant positive impacts on the lives of children with special needs and their families.

Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist, the Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) serves students who have identified speech and language disorders and may have other disabilities as well. A SLPA assists in supplementing, enhancing, and extending speech/language therapy services by completing a variety of tasks such as, but not limited to, direct activities with students designed to develop pre-language and language skills, speech motor production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate student-centered therapeutic care for individuals with emotional, physical or social emotional learning needs as documented on their individualized treatment plans
  • Assist with formal documentation, preparing materials, and performing clerical duties for the supervising SLP
  • Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist during assessment of students
  • Support in meeting the needs of the whole child based on American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), state, and district regulations

Education and Experience, must meet at least one of the qualifications below:

  • Associate degree in and/or graduation from a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certificate program
  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Communication Disorders with a minimum of 100 hours field work/clinical experience from a Board-approved program

Qualifications:

  • California License in Speech Therapy.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to flexible, full-time schedules.
