Position Overview

The Emergency Response Coordinator at Da-Lee Group supports the planning, coordination, and execution of emergency response and preparedness activities across operations. Working closely with the Emergency Response Manager, this role promotes a safe work environment through training coordination, emergency preparedness activities, equipment readiness, and compliance with applicable health and safety legislation.

The Emergency Response Coordinator acts as an operational and administrative support to the Emergency Response Manager, ensuring emergency response programs are implemented effectively and that readiness activities, documentation, and follow-up actions are completed in a timely and consistent manner.

Key Responsibilities

Emergency Response Coordination

  • Supports the Emergency Response Manager in coordinating emergency response programs to ensure emergency preparedness across operations.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination for the Emergency Response Team.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and facilitation of emergency response drills as directed by the Emergency Response Manager.
  • Assist with coordinating post-drill or post-incident debriefs and preparing reports outlining findings and recommendations for review by the Emergency Response Manager and site leadership.
  • Assist with the review and updating of the Emergency Preparedness Plan in collaboration with the Emergency Response Manager.

Equipment and Systems Support

  • Support the Emergency Response Manager by ensuring monthly inspections of emergency response equipment are completed, documented, and deficiencies corrected. Equipment must remain emergency-ready at all times.
  • Maintain the emergency notification system for emergency response personnel and other designated employees, escalating issues or gaps to the Emergency Response Manager as required.
  • Conduct periodic testing of the emergency notification system (minimum twice per calendar year) and report results to the Emergency Response Manager.
  • Support the Emergency Response Manager in tracking emergency response staffing levels and training coverage to ensure adequate readiness.

Training and Safety Support

  • Support the Emergency Response Manager in coordinating and delivering training to operational crews on applicable government modules and internal training requirements designed to prevent injuries.
  • Assist with the delivery and coordination of emergency response and safety-related training programs.
  • Attend crew safety meetings as an observer or presenter, as assigned, to provide updates related to emergency response programs or changes.
  • Perform workplace visits and inspections, in coordination with the Emergency Response Manager, to audit safety performance and monitor compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Escalate identified hazards, infractions, or safety concerns to the Emergency Response Manager and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Emergency Response and Planning
  • Experience delivering or coordinating training programs.
  • Experience in health and safety within an industrial, environmental services, or field-based operations environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and schedule programs and activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and support a cooperative team effort.
  • Emergency response team experience. (Preferred)
