Off Shift Production Manager
The Off Shift Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the evening and weekend production areas. This role ensures the efficient execution of production tasks and supports the development of Supervisors within these areas through coaching, guidance, and support. The Off Shift Production Manager ensures operational excellence through leadership, hands-on approach, and commitment to high-quality standards.
Shift Information (subject to change based on needs of the business)
Schedule: 4x10 hr shifts
Days: Friday through Monday
Hours: 3:00 pm - 2:00 am
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Workplace Safety Oversight & Compliance
Conduct regular safety audits and Gemba walks
Promote active engagement in safe work practices
Fosters accountability by upholding established standards and practices
Ensures attendance of team(s) in required safety training courses
Participates in incident reporting, investigations and follow up actions
Quality Excellence & Compliance
Conducts regular quality Gemba walks to ensure adherence to standards
Ensures non-conformances (NCRs) are processed in a timely manner
Support and assist with implementation of continuous improvement initiatives as indicated by day shift leadership team
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise, mentor, & develop Supervisors & production teams
Provide coaching and support to drive engagement and accountability
Collaborate with Safety, Maintenance and Day shift Production Managers to ensure alignment, continuity and smooth shift transitions
Production Coordination
Monitors and evaluate production performance against targets
Identify and escalate issues impacting safety, quality, delivery or cost
Prepare and/or present regular production reports
Complete end of shift & transition reporting
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Post-secondary education in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production control principles
Ability to lead teams on off shifts with minimal onsite support
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Minimum 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience leading off-shift or extended-hours operations.
