The City of West Jordan, UT. is seeking to hire a full time Lead Facilities Services Representative

Opening Date: November 26, 2025

Closing Date: December 10, 2025

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Pay Range: $ $27.87

Schedule: Monday -- Friday, 2:00 pm -- 10:30 pm

Summary
Under supervision of the Facilities Manager, this position will supervise the full-time, part-time and temporary

facilities services personnel in proper floor care, cleaning, furniture setup/moving and safety procedures.

Monitor and perform custodial maintenance duties including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors,

vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms, and other similar duties. Monitor and

perform specialized custodial care and general building maintenance to maximize a healthy, safe, pleasant, and

functional environment. May also perform other tasks such as helping move furniture, assisting with setup and

take-down of events, hanging office items on walls, and other facilities services-related tasks. Regular rotations

between work areas are a required component of this position and will be implemented at the supervisor's

discretion.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Supervises and trains full-time, part-time, and temporary custodial personnel in all facilities services operations.

Essential Duties

  • Help the City maintain a good public image by providing a safe, clean, comfortable environment

conducive to all those that visit our facilities.

  • Ensure all City owned buildings are cleaned and ready for daily use.
  • Train and monitor safety in working with hazardous chemicals, cleanup of body fluids, ladders, lifts and

other equipment.

  • Build team cohesion and unity while addressing potential discord between team members.
  • Adhere to department cleaning, lock-up/unlocking, and furniture set-up to provide proper facilities

cleanliness.

  • Maintain inventory and supplies.
  • Prepare various cleaning reports.

  • Assume duties of staff members in their absence.
  • Maintain building security by ensuring doors and windows are locked and secured.
  • Maintain all types of floor surfaces, fabric surfaces, and upholstery.
  • Perform specialized custodial duties, i.e. cleans, refinishes and maintains a variety of floor coverings and

surfaces, cleans restroom floors, monitors pest control, and other specialized tasks as assigned. Assist in

maintaining adequate stock of cleaning supplies, inventory and spaces. Organizes closets and storage

areas to stock parts and supplies.

  • Maintain custodial equipment: perform preventative and repair maintenance on equipment such as buffers,

vacuums, scrubbers, burnishers, appliances, etc.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Four years of experience in general custodial, building, and grounds maintenance, of which two years

must be in a lead or supervisory role.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Valid Utah Driver's License

Knowledge Of
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Training in proper use of hazardous chemicals and products.
  • Cleanup and proper protection from body fluids.
  • Pest control.
  • All floor types such as cement, wood, vinyl, and ceramic tile as well as carpet fibers, weaves, and backings.
  • Waxes/polishes, acids, common cleaning chemicals, buffers, extractors, vacuums and scrubbers.
  • General maintenance operations, related laws, codes, rules, and regula

tions governing functions of the

position, including applicable OSHA regulations

Skill With

  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal, p oblem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Computers such as Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS software (desktop and apps).

Ability To

  • Supervise and provide on-the-job training.

hazards and at times, considerable discomfort.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.; exposure to heat,

noise, outdoors, vibration, confining work space, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards;

ability to travel to different sites and locations; availability for on call, stand-by, and emergency call.
