*Job Summary*
In this role, the Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving a company's network infrastructure by configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and monitoring network hardware like routers, switches, and firewall. You will collaborate with senior engineers to implement new network projects and ensure optimal network performance and security; typically focusing on basic network administration tasks under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
*Network Configuration And Maintenance*
* Installing, configuring, and updating network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers according to established standards and procedures.
*Troubleshooting Network Issues*
* Diagnosing and resolving network connectivity problems, including hardware failures, configuration errors, and connectivity issues.
*Network Monitoring*
* Utilizing network monitoring tools to track network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and ensure network availability.
*Implementing Security Measures*
* Assisting with the deployment and maintenance of network security protocols, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
*Documentation*
* Maintaining accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration details, and troubleshooting guides.
*Collaboration With Senior Engineers*
* Working closely with senior network engineers to implement new network designs, projects, and upgrades.
*Vendor Management*
* Coordinating with network hardware vendors for support and maintenance issues.
*Patch Management*
* Applying software updates and patches to network devices to maintain security and stability.
*Qualifications And Experience*
* Must have a minimum of three years’ prior network engineering experience
* Networking fundamentals: Strong understanding of networking concepts including IP addressing, routing protocols, VLANs, and network topologies.
* Network hardware knowledge: Familiarity with various network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from different vendors.
* Basic troubleshooting skills: Ability to identify and resolve common network problems.
* Command-line proficiency: Experience with command-line interfaces for configuring network devices.
* Basic scripting knowledge: Familiarity with scripting languages for automated tasks can be beneficial.
* Communication skills: Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain network issues and solutions.
Education/Certifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and CompTIA Network + are preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,549.52 - $85,145.66 per year
