Job Description
Responsible for transitioning enterprise analytics infrastructure to new datacenter environments, including Power BI gateway migration, data connection remapping, and gateway cluster rebuilds. Supports SSRS decommissioning and paginated report re-establishment, while assisting with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric administration, foundational OneLake governance, and documentation of all configuration and infrastructure changes to ensure a secure, stable, and well-managed transition.
This role supports a strategic initiative to transition enterprise analytics infrastructure to new datacenter environments, ensuring continuity and compliance across Power BI, SSRS, and emerging Microsoft Fabric capabilities. The position spans

, with responsibilities that include re-establishing critical services, optimizing connectivity, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities in a secure and resilient manner.
The engineer will collaborate across technology and business teams to deliver infrastructure changes that maintain operational stability while supporting future-ready analytics architecture.
Core Responsibilities
- Enterprise Analytics Infrastructure Transition
- Lead migration of analytics services—including Power BI gateways, SSRS workloads, and associated data connections—to new datacenter environments.
- Rebuild and validate platform components to ensure performance, security, and compliance.
- Maintain gateway health, apply updates, and implement automation for monitoring and restarts.
- Paginated Reporting & SSRS Decommissioning
- Support decommissioning of SSRS servers and re-establish required paginated reporting capabilities.
- Assist with transitions of paginated reports into Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Fabric & OneLake Enablement
- Assist with Power BI migrations into Microsoft Fabric and manage workspace/capacity configurations.
- Apply foundational OneLake administration practices, including storage access, shortcut concepts, and usage auditing.
- Documentation & Cross-Team Support
- Document new infrastructure configurations and provide troubleshooting support across teams.
- Contribute to planning for cloud migration and platform alignment.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent (consulting, training, military, education).
- Strong Power BI administration experience (Service, Gateway, Desktop, Report Server).
- Hands-on experience with gateway setup, migration, patching, diagnostics, and PowerShell automation.
- Familiarity with SSRS and paginated report deployment, configuration, and migration.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (workspaces, items, capacities) and OneLake basics.
- Understanding of data governance concepts: sensitivity labels, AD group access, tenant/workspace structure.
- Experience with infrastructure transitions such as server moves, connection updates, or system rebuilds.
Preferred Skills
- Terraform, GitHub, or automation tooling.
- CMK encryption or identity integration experience.
- Power Automate or Python scripting for operational efficiencies.
- Multi-tenant analytics or enterprise BI platform support.
