Armed Security Officer (2055)

We are seeking a reliable and experienced VA Armed Security Officer to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons.

Available schedules:

Harrisonburg, VA

• Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri - 730a - 530p
• Overtime available Thursday and Sunday

Harrisonburg / Charlottesville

• Tue/Wed - 730a - 530p (Charlottesville)
• Thur- 730a - 530p (Harrisonburg)
• Sat - 730a - 1p (Harrisonburg)
• Overtime available Monday and Friday

Charlottesville

• Mon/Thu/Fri - 730a - 530p
• Sat - 730a - 530p
• Overtime available Tuesday and Wednesday

Responsibilities:

• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
• Request emergency personnel for high risk situations

Qualifications:

• Must have a current and valid armed VA DCJS license.
• 2 years previous experience in armed security, law enforcement, corrections, or active duty military
• First Aid and CPR/AED certified
• Must be capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs, running, physically restraining a violent person, lifting objects weighing up to 50 lb
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic computer literacy required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour
