About
We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our Indianapolis, Indiana logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing all incoming shipments. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that all deliveries match purchase orders, identify any damages, and that inventory is accurately entered into our system. This position is critical to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of goods into our warehouse. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from carriers.
- Verify quantities and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage received items for distribution or put-away.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, as needed.
- Assist with inventory control tasks and cycle counts.
- Ensure a safe and efficient workflow in the receiving department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift items.
- Capability of lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
