We are seeking a reliable Material Handler for our New York City, New York facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving products to and from storage areas, and staging materials for production or shipment. Your ability to operate material handling equipment, adhere to strict safety guidelines, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations will be key. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move materials to designated storage locations or production areas.
- Stage materials for outbound shipments or internal transfers.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking activities as needed.
- Support the overall logistics process by ensuring timely and accurate material movement.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to supervision.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment operation and safety.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, and basic math skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations is beneficial.
