We are seeking an Onsite System Engineer with excellent problem-solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a positive, customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment. In addition, they should have a strong technical understanding of the various hardware, software and networking systems being supported.
Must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software. A bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or seven or more years of experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, TCP/IP, and server and network infrastructure are typical job requirements. This position is located in Eden Prairie, MN and is fully on-site.
Job Duties:
- Provide on-site technical support to contract clients.
- Respond to escalated technical issues and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and provide solutions to clients.
- Install and configure software and hardware components for clients.
- Provide high-quality customer service to clients and maintain a positive relationship with them.
- Document all issues, resolutions, and client interactions in the ticketing system.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure the client's needs are met.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in computer science or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in a managed services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications, as well as general networking concepts.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and remote desktop support.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotation.
