*WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR*
You’ve successfully managed *defense hardware programs* and can prove you’ve driven programs through *PDR and CDR*, handled *prime contractor flow downs*, owned schedule/cost/risk, and coordinated manufacturing readiness and *First Article Inspection (FAI)* packages.
*WHAT YOU’LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)*
* Own full program execution from award through delivery: scope, schedule, cost, risk, and customer communications.
* Lead and present at *PDR/CDR and customer design reviews*, ensuring actions are closed, artifacts are controlled, and the design is production-ready.
* Manage contractual deliverables and flowdowns (typical: *CDRL/EDRL*, quality notes, test requirements, packaging, acceptance).
* Coordinate cross-functional execution: engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, test, and configuration management.
* Drive build readiness: BOM maturity, long-lead procurement, manufacturing plans, inspection/test plans, and delivery documentation.
* Lead *FAI/AS9102* readiness and closeout (or equivalent prime/customer FAI requirements).
* Maintain program reporting: IMS/critical path, burn-down, risks/opportunities, action registers, and executive summaries.
* Manage customer relationships with *prime contractors* (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, etc.) and ensure compliance to their quality/contract requirements (including supplier quality clauses where applicable).
*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS *
*You should have these on your resume with specific examples:*
* *Defense/aerospace program management experience (hardware)*: running programs with real deliverables, inspections, and shipments.
* *Documented experience leading PDR and CDR* (or equivalent formal design maturity reviews) with customer participation.
* *FAI experience* (AS9102 or prime equivalent): you’ve coordinated the package, addressed nonconformances, and closed actions.
* Experience managing *prime contractor flowdowns* and deliverables (CDRL/EDRL, quality clauses, acceptance requirements).
* Strong schedule ownership: building/maintaining an *IMS* (MS Project or equivalent), managing critical path, and recovery plans.
* Experience interfacing with Quality/Manufacturing on: inspection/test, nonconformance, corrective actions, and configuration control.
* Professional, crisp customer communication: meeting minutes, action items, decision logs, and weekly program status.
STRONGLY PREFERRED (TOP CANDIDATES WILL HAVE SEVERAL)
* Experience managing multiple concurrent builds (prototype → low-rate → production).
* Familiarity with supplier quality requirements from major primes (example: FAI clause structures).
* EVMS/EVM exposure (CAM experience a plus—common in prime environments). (Example of prime postings emphasizing CAM/EVM, risk/opportunity, budgeting.)
* Experience with ruggedized compute, servers, embedded systems, networking, or electronics integration.
* Knowledge of configuration management discipline (ECR/ECO, baselines, change control).
* US person status / ITAR-controlled environment experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
