Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Nottingham Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum Responsibilities
Design bespoke machinery and special purpose equipment from concept through to manufacture. Produce 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks. Design components and assemblies incorporating fabrication, sheet metal, and CNC machined parts. Work closely with manufacturing, assembly, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective. Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and design improvements. Manage engineering documentation and design changes. Skills & Experience
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (essential). Experience designing bespoke machinery or SPM equipment. Good understanding of fabrication, sheet metal design, and CNC machining processes. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
