Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Service Manager to lead our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive dealership experience and a strong background in auto service management. This role requires a professional with comprehensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repairs, and customer service, committed to delivering exceptional vehicle maintenance and repair solutions. The Service Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure high-quality service delivery, and foster a customer-focused environment to drive business growth.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the service department, including technicians and support staff
  • Manage service appointments, prioritize workflow, and ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance
  • Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, and diesel engine repairs
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Conduct quality control inspections on completed work to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Handle customer inquiries, provide expert advice on vehicle repairs, and upsell additional services when appropriate
  • Manage auto estimating and service writing to accurately document repair orders
  • Oversee cash handling procedures and maintain accurate financial records
  • Collaborate with sales teams on automobile sales initiatives and customer retention strategies
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies including air brake systems, alignments, shocks & struts, auto body repair, and other specialized services

Skills

  • Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive service operations
  • Extensive knowledge of auto repair including mechanical systems, diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, auto body repair, and related areas
  • Experience in auto service management with demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
  • Skilled in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
  • Proficiency in auto estimating software and service writing processes
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on mechanic experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55, $65,000.00 per year
