Landmark Testing & Engineering, based in St. George, Utah, is hiring Construction Material Testing Technicians — with a clear path to advance into Special Inspection roles.
Whether you're just starting out or already have field experience, we want motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our growing team. You'll play a hands-on role in supporting Southern Utah's booming construction industry while building a long-term career with a company that values both client satisfaction and employee development.
BASIC FUNCTION
Field Technicians are the backbone of Landmark Testing & Engineering. In this hands-on role, you'll conduct field testing and site observations on a variety of construction materials.
Field Technicians perform tests according to ASTM, AASHTO, and other agency standards on soils, concrete, and bituminous materials. You'll work under the direction of senior technicians or project managers to:
- Understand and follow project requirements and test protocols
- Transport material samples to our in-house lab for further testing and analysis
- Submit daily electronic field reports using a company-provided tablet
Most work is based in the St. George area, but travel may occasionally be required to job sites throughout Utah, Arizona, and Nevada (typically for less than two weeks at a time).
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Education or Equivalent
- Submittal for a drug screen and motor vehicle background check
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Person with a strong work ethic looking to grow their career in the construction industry.
- Valid drivers' license with acceptable violation history
- No experience in the construction industry – we will provide the skills and certifications necessary to perform the job.
- If you have Material Testing experience, that's great We will assist you in advancing in the industry
- Ability to operate a computer and enter, format, and translate data using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English. Bilingual in Spanish, a plus.
- The Field Technician must be able to use general mathematical skills.
- Must possess the ability to work out of town for up to a week at a time and have the ability to study and learn specifications and manuals to receive industry standard certification.
