Position Summary
Part of a dynamic valuation team that works with all areas of the company. This position provides exposure to multiple facets of actuarial work, including life insurance and annuity valuation, financial projection, financial reporting and experience analysis/review. This position may also assist in the completion of embedded value, asset/liability management and capital management work.
Role Responsibilities
Calculate STAT/GAAP/Tax Reserves/ DAC/VOBA etc. and support quarterly results analysis including explanation of variance from expectations.
Assist in the completion of annual asset adequacy testing (AAT) and risk based capital model runs, analysis and required regulatory reporting.
Maintain and document valuation models.
Conduct experience analysis and prepare experience reports for management.
Prepare material for internal and external reporting, including management, internal and external auditors, clients, rating agencies and regulators.
Assist with model conversion, valuation platform conversion and system validation.
Assist with operations requests related to values and administration of (re)insurance policies.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of US Stat or GAAP reserving or financial reporting experience with knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and programming languages (e.g., SQL, VBA).
Experience with actuarial software Moody's Axis or ALFA. ARCVAL/CASE a plus. While the company currently uses all three of these actuarial software platforms we are in the process of converting everything to Moody's Axis. Hence experience with Axis is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to research problems or questions and provide responses.
React to change productively and able to prioritize multiple tasks appropriately.
Required Education / Certifications
ASA designation preferred but will consider applicants that are close to ASA
Bachelor's degree (Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or Actuarial Science is a plus).

Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $100,000 and $140,000. Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training and experience.
Base salary is just one component of Wilton Re's total compensation package for employees. Additional compensation includes annual performance-based bonus, 401K with employer contribution, and profit-sharing program. Employee may also be eligible for long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
