Experienced Line Cook

Sconehenge Bakery & Cafe is a Berkeley community staple We have been serving the community breakfast American and Mexican style dishes for over 20 years. We have many loyal customers who know our staff by name and have been coming for generations. We are a fast paced restaurant.

We are looking for a full-time line cook with experience in a breakfast restaurant. We are a friendly, family-oriented, and collaborative group.

This role is for 40 hours a week. The typical schedule is Thur - Mon, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

Duties:

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly and safely
• Work across all kitchen stations as needed
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service
• Support the Head Chef in kitchen operations and food quality control
• Communicate effectively and maintain a positive work environment
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Create specials and new dishes
• It is the Cook's responsibility to assist in the daily cleaning of the pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in, and downstairs prep area.

Requirements:

• 1+ year experience cooking in a restaurant/cafe, preferred if breakfast
• ServSafe
• Over 18
• Eligible to work in United States
• Stand for long periods of time and lift over 50 lbs
• Multitask
• Self-directed
• Commute to location
