Machine Assistant

Position Summary: Assist the operator during setup which can include hanging print plates, mounting die boards, changing ink colors, washups, feeding paper into the machine while running and stacking boxes on a pallet at the end of the conveyor.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Machine Operation & Support: Assist the operator with machine setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting. Monitor the line for any jams or malfunctions and report issues immediately.

Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on products including form, fit and function.

Material Handling: Load materials such as into the machines. Keep the work area stocked with necessary supplies such as staging pallets, load tags and dunnage.

Safety and Sanitation: Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Maintain a clean and organized work area by cleaning machines and disposing of waste.

Documentation: Complete production logs and quality control checklists accurately and legibly. Report any downtime or production issues.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for spotting product defects or machine errors.

Verbal and Written Skills: Must be able to read, write and speak and understand English for training and safety purposes.

Teamwork: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the operator and other team members.

Required Education: List minimum education level required to be considered for position and preferred or specific majors.

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Required Experience: (List minimum years and types of experience or industry required to be considered for the position.)

Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred
