About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist specializing in Performance Marketing to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the optimization of our marketing efforts through advanced data science techniques and AI solutions. Your primary focus will be on developing predictive models, designing optimization engines, and creating audience segmentation strategies to enhance campaign efficiency and effectiveness. As part of our centralized data science team, you will collaborate closely with Marketing, Growth, Product, and Finance teams to translate business objectives into actionable insights and scalable solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact the future growth of Quince by leveraging your expertise in machine learning, causal inference, and statistical modeling to inform decision-making and automate processes across various marketing channels.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience as a growth data scientist in relevant industries such as e-commerce or marketplace platforms
- Hands-on experience applying machine learning, predictive modeling, and causal inference to optimize marketing performance
- Deep knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques, including multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, and constrained optimization
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and model development
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically about business challenges
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities
Responsibilities
- Develop and own end-to-end predictive models for marketing campaign efficiency, including conversion, CPA forecasting, churn, and retention models
- Design and implement dynamic budget allocation and bidding optimization engines across paid search, social, display, and emerging channels
- Create audience segmentation strategies using look-alike modeling, clustering, and uplift modeling to maximize incremental impact
- Build and maintain reliable feature and model pipelines from raw data streams through feature engineering to deployment in both batch and real-time environments
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into testable hypotheses, define success metrics, and conduct statistically rigorous experiments such as A/B tests and sequential testing
- Develop simulation tools to forecast scenarios including spend curves, diminishing returns, seasonality, and cannibalization effects
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and best practices in AI, data science, and growth marketing to continuously improve our strategies and models
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of data-driven initiatives with overall business objectives
