Job Description: Delivery Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of a manager, this position is responsible for a transactional part of the logistics cycle for all Quality First Pharmacy deliveries, including customer delivery, customer product returns and customer interaction. The position ensures the smooth transportation of routine products through the transportation channel by managing individual deliveries in transit, selecting standard shipping/warehousing methods, collecting and processing delivery and documentation items, and address verification via phone and personal contact with logistics colleagues, business partners, internal partners, and customers. This position also assists in the organization of the office and daily operations of the company. Hours will be Monday thru Friday 09:30am-6:30pm.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Observe and direct driver activities using logistics software and engineered route templates with focus on: Customer requirements, time windows, specific stop requirements
  • Driver efficiency; Actual deliverable versus undeliverable
  • Overall security of the vehicle and company product
  • Provide real time support for drivers throughout their routes in regards to new customer sites, technical hardware/software issues and mechanical issues
  • Adjust driver work assignments during course of driver shift when events dictate (mechanical breakdowns, unexpected driver loss, higher than normal fuel usage, supply issues, etc. etc.)
  • Assist management in providing performance feedback and general support to drivers.
  • Contact customers when customer requirements will not be met.
  • Collaborate with the entire managerial team to improve route efficiencies and implement cost-saving processes.
  • Efficiently and effectively manage delivery drivers, capturing and documenting numerous aspects of driver route activity.
  • Provide initial instruction on incidents of all kinds---collisions, spills, contaminations, etc.
  • Evaluate circumstances; coordinate response; and notify all pertinent parties.
  • Assist with managing the Post-accident drug / alcohol testing process and initial incident reporting
  • Assist with deliveries

· File Site Visit Reports, Authorizations, and Client Information

· Assist pharmacy will any filing, faxing, or phone calls as needed

· Administer corrective actions, coaching, or disciplinary measures as needed to maintain a productive and respectful work environment

· Other duties as assigned

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically has general knowledge of logistics operations
  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable information.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively solve problems
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, high-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build solid cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated strict attention to detail is required.
