Position Overview

Seeking an experienced
Design Electrical Engineer
to support engineering, design, and application activities for Gas and Steam turbine generator projects. This role provides cross-functional technical leadership throughout design, installation, and commissioning cycles while ensuring compliance with global standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support across application, design, installation, and contract implementation phases.
  • Coordinate with sourcing, services, global engineering, requisition engineering, and external suppliers.
  • Lead development and application of electrical MSD (Material Shipped Direct) equipment for new Gas/Steam turbine generator units.
  • Partner with requisition management to streamline order-to-operation engineering cycles.
  • Own and meet internal and customer on-time delivery milestones.
  • Represent Generator & Electrical engineering in customer meetings (domestic & international).
  • Drive requisition quality, technical accuracy, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Assess, mitigate, and disposition equipment risks during factory build or installation.
  • Interpret contract requirements, design practices, and ensure compliance with NEC/ANSI/IEEE/IEC standards.
  • Maintain awareness of global codes, engineering tools, and best practices.

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong experience in
    detailed engineering
    for
    Gas & Steam power plant
    projects.

Hands-on design experience with:

  • Motor Control Centers (MCC)
  • Battery systems & compartments
  • 52G Generator Breaker
  • Neutral grounding equipment
  • Generator protection systems
  • AC/DC panel boards & cabinets
  • Electrical compartments
  • Transformers
  • Cable sizing & interconnections (NEC standards)
  • Ability to develop
    Single Line Diagrams
    and technical specifications.
  • Experience reviewing supplier drawings, technical docs, and preparing deviation lists.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, ANSI, IEEE, IEC standards.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management across multiple engineering teams.
