Mission of the Position
A Project Manager at CIT is highly organized and strategic, overseeing both internal and client-facing initiatives. This role is critical in guiding our company through a period of transformation—including the integration of a newly acquired MSP team and the implementation of Agile Service Delivery.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex technical projects, driving internal process improvements, and ensuring timely and successful project outcomes. This includes both hands-on project execution and cross-functional team coordination across service delivery, security, compliance, and operations.
As a Project Manager at CompliancyIT, your mission is to continuously clarify a path forward for teams to delivery projects on time, on budget, assuring high touch communication between internal teams and our Clients.
You are a leader in the company as a Project Manager, serving in a pivotal role to assure CIT and our Clients meet their business goals. Your role is key as it bridges the gap between technical work and business outcomes. You allow teams to focus on the deep work, providing roadmaps and accountability. You identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks and redundancies. You assure proper allocation of team members to projects based on skills and availability. You ensure all decisions and actions are aligned with the Principles, taking decisive action, especially where there is ambiguity.
Key Requirements/Criteria
Client-Facing Projects
Manage multiple technical implementation projects for clients simultaneously (e.g., onboarding, infrastructure upgrades, compliance readiness)
- Ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of managed services and compliance engagements
- Act as the primary point of contact for project status, timelines, risks, and scope management.
Coordinate with technical engineers, team leads, and compliance consultants to track deliverables
Internal Projects
Lead internal transformation projects (e.g., team integration, Agile service rollout, tool/process implementations)
- Track dependencies and align cross-departmental stakeholders on internal project goals.
Monitor KPIs and process adoption during change initiatives
Project Governance
Maintain project plans, track milestones, manage risks, and communicate changes to stakeholders
- Run agile standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other team cadence meetings
Create and maintain clear project documentation and reporting in systems such as ConnectWise Manage
Reporting and Analysis
Prepare regular project status reports
- Analyze project delivery performance and client satisfaction
Track and report on project metrics and KPIs
Internal Collaboration
Work closely with delivery teams, leadership, and technical staff
Provide visibility in the organization on projects following our 1 Principle of Radical Truth and Radical Transparency
Risk Management
Identify and mitigate potential risks to project success
- Identify risks to Client and CIT business operations continuity with the assistance of leadership and technical teams
- Manage client and internal team member expectations proactively
Handle escalations and resolve conflicts
Continuous Improvement
Gather and act on client and team member feedback
- Propose and implement process improvements
- Stay updated on industry best practices
Knowledge of IT governance standards including disaster recovery planning and organizational compliance frameworks such as CMMC is a plus.
