Responsibilities
The
Recreational Specialist
is responsible for planning, scheduling, and implementing life skills and leisure activity programs for the patients based on appropriate developmental, social, and emotional stages of each patient under the direction of the Director of Activity Therapy. The
Recreational Specialist
plans activities to meet the specific needs of the patient population including patients with physical limitations.

Qualifications
Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist Requirements:
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Possess current Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or must obtain Certification within 60 days of employment - Required.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Two years of related experience with children, adolescents and young adult population
- Prefer knowledge of mental health and chemical dependency treatment services
- Must possess or be eligible for a State of Kentucky driver's license
- Certification in CPR required upon hire
