Seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our bustling warehouse in Washington, D.C. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and processing all deliveries. This critical role ensures the integrity of our inventory and the smooth operation of our logistics pipeline. Your diligence will directly contribute to accurate record-keeping and the timely availability of goods for subsequent warehouse processes.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Coordinate with delivery drivers for efficient unloading.
- Maintain organized receiving areas and ensure proper storage of materials.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and the correct usage of PPE.
- Assist with managing returned goods and their processing.
- Support overall logistics operations by ensuring accurate receiving data.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory control role preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, especially inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting, up to 25 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic logistics concepts.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
