About
Are you detail-oriented and organized? We're looking for a Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating the shipment of goods from our warehouse. This includes verifying order accuracy, packaging items securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. You'll ensure that all shipments are processed accurately and on time, maintaining efficient operations. A good understanding of shipping procedures and documentation is beneficial. Your role is vital in ensuring our customers receive their orders correctly and promptly. You will be an integral part of our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing shipments against order documentation for accuracy.
- Package products securely and efficiently for transit.
- Generate and affix shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and strapping machines.
- Adhere to all Safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
