The Advanced Workflow Specialist – Electron Microscopy Sample Preparation (d/f/m) plays a key customer-facing role within the EMEA Business Development team. The position supports pre-sales and post-sales activities by delivering expert application knowledge, demonstrations, trainings, and workflow optimization for electron microscopy sample preparation solutions.
By acting as a technical and scientific bridge between customers, Sales, Business Development, Product Management, and R&D, this role directly contributes to customer success, adoption of advanced workflows, and Leica Microsystems’ growth across the EMEA region.

This position reports to the EMEA Business Development leadership and is part of the EMEA Business Development Team, Sample Preparation (SU).

The role is remote, based in Germany, with regular travel across the EMEA region.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
•    Deliver pre-sales and post-sales application support, including on-site and virtual demonstrations, customer trainings, and workflow optimization.
•    Plan, execute, and support customer workshops, seminars, and advanced application sessions focused on electron microscopy sample preparation workflows.
•    Support marketing initiatives through scientific content contributions for webinars, conferences, workshops, and promotional materials.
•    Develop and contribute to application data, success stories, and reference workflows that support the commercial organization.
•    Ensure accurate and timely documentation of customer activities, demos, and trainings in CRM systems (e.g., SFDC).

The essential requirements of the job include:
•    Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Life Sciences, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline.
•    Hands-on experience with electron microscopy (EM) sample preparation techniques (e.g., cryo-EM workflows, Correlative Lights and Electron Microscopy (CLEM) workflows, ultramicrotomy, coating, freeze-fracture). Experience with light microscopy workflows is advantageous.
•    Ability and willingness to travel frequently across the EMEA region.
•    Proficiency in English (technical and conversational); additional European languages, particularly German, are an advantage.


Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
•    Ability to travel up to 40–50% within EMEA, including overnight stays.
•    Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
•    Ability to work in laboratory and customer environments and handle standard demonstration equipment.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
•    Customer-facing roles supporting complex scientific instrumentation or workflows.
•    Use of CRM systems (e.g., SFDC) and virtual demonstration tools.
•    Supporting marketing or scientific communication activities such as webinars, conference presentations, or application notes.
